OVERSEAS MISSIONS

PEVEK, SIBERIA – Slava and Valeria Grin received the two snow mobiles we helped purchase.  These will help ease their travel over frozen tundra for ministry work.

KITALE, KENYA – The Nursing Academy is gradually coming together.  Target opening is March 2010. 

MAKEYEVKA, UKRAINE – The Good Shepherd Children’s Shelter received additional funds to help with food and school supplies.

DONETSK, UKRAINE – Funds were provided to help complete the rehabilitation center being established by Alexander Moseychuk (New Life Church pastor).

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Approximately $12,000 was sent thru CJOL and ACTION to minister to the victims of Typhoon Ondoy.  Food, medicine and blankets were some of the items received.

NEW MISSIONARY ASSOCIATES:  We welcome new additions to the Guidelines’ family as a result of overseas missions’ outreaches this year:

  1. Shalom Birthing Home headed by Mavis Orton, British nurse/midwife, in Antipolo, Philippines. Shalom provides the local and neighboring communities with pre-natal clinics several times each week and delivers about 120 to 150 babies each month. The facility also provides spiritual care as the Gospel is shared through Bible studies while the women are on-site for their check ups.
  1. Canaan Celebration Ministry headed by Pastor John Esto in Kipsongo, Kenya. This ministry provides the community with Christian leadership, evangelism to preach peace and reconciliation among neighbors and teaches salvation.  They also provide programs for the widows and youth.
  1. Gama Canul is a missionary to the Mayan people in Merida on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.  He works with churches and pastors in the villages, traveling many miles through the jungle to preach and teach.

  2. Created for a Purpose is distributed by Oasis International Limited in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Mauritius.  Shipments are also scheduled for South Africa and Ethiopia.
  3. “Unleashing the Power of the Holy Spirit in Your Personal Life” DVDs in English and Chinese are currently distributed in the US, the Philippines and China.
  4. Making Your Emotions Work for You by Harvest House Publishers was released in July.
  5. Por Que Podemos Confiar en la Biblia (Why You Can Have Confidence in the Bible in Spanish) by Vida Publishers was released in September.
  6. Our tract “Relihiyon o Relasyon: Ang Telenovela ng Buhay Mo (“Becoming Who God Intended You to Be” in Tagalog) is widely distributed in the Philippines through ACTION International Ministries, local FEBC stations, etc.
  7. Soltero y Feliz en un Mundo de Parejas (Joyfully Single in a Couple’s World in Spanish) by ACTION International Ministries will be released in Cuba sometime 2010.
