KENYA 2012 MISSION

Two Guidelines’ staff and some family members recently traveled to Kitale, Kenya to work with Sister Freda Robinson.  Guidelines’ mission coordinator Nancy Sala-Deushane and her daughter Taylor, Kenya “veterans,” were joined by a sister-in-law and a good friend.  Office manager Dee Green brought along her sister Freda, who, in turn, took her son Randy and daughter-in-law Linda.  Dee and Freda, the “more mature” members of the team are first-time short-term missionaries.

The Guidelines team worked alongside the Saddleback Church (Lake Forest, CA) team for a 10-day mission.  They held medical and vision clinics and had prayer tents set up in slums and IMDP camps in Bosnia, Gilgal, Mt. Elgon and Pokot.  They visited children’s ministries such as Discover to Recover and Oasis of Hope (a Guidelines’ supported ministry), where orphans and street children are always hungry for simple pleasures like a smile, a touch or a hug.

Wherever the team went they provided much-needed help and shared the love of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40).  The team definitely fulfilled this mission!
