Celebrate Your Femininity

Bible Text: Jeremiah 29:11 | Speaker: Darlene Sala | Series: Encouraging Words | I want to talk to you women for a moment. Did you ever give serious thought to the fact that your being a woman and not a man is God’s distinct plan for you. If God needed another man in the world, you would have been a boy, for actually, there are about 104 boy babies born for every 100 girl babies. But God planned for you to be a woman.

I’m here to encourage you to celebrate your femininity, I once had a neighbor whose name was Sydni–a boy’s name because her father was disappointed that she was not a son. She grew up with low self-image because she felt his rejection. But there is no rejection with God.  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

God gave you a beautiful, curvy body.  Pornography has cheated and exploited us as women, but we came from the drawing board of Heaven to be lovely creations of God’s handiwork. Appreciate your body.  Take good care of it with nutrition and exercise.  Enjoy pretty clothes and feminine things.

Shortly after we were married, we visited Paris, France. I had heard about the prostitutes that walked the streets of that city, but I was not prepared to see that they were some of the prettiest women there—well-groomed, slender, stylish and walking with pride.  Right then and there I thought to myself, “If they can look like that while making their living in that disgraceful, disgusting way, I can keep myself attractive for my wonderful husband, who is faithful to me and loves me with all his heart.“

It’s true that God looks not on the outward appearance but on the heart, but the rest of the world still has to look at the outside. So enjoy your femininity—not extravagantly or with egotism but with freedom to be all that God created you to be.
