Start Using Your God Given Gifts

No one knows more about gardening than God does. After all, He Himself planted the first garden on this earth, the Garden of Eden. He knows well the science of botany because He “invented” it.  God placed in our world every imaginable flower from miniscule desert blooms that require a magnifying glass to be seen, to giant corpse flowers, whose blossoms grow ten feet tall and can even raise their own temperatures.

When He was here on this earth, Jesus used examples from nature to explain spiritual truths. Jesus pointed out the beauty of the lilies of the field (Matthew 6:28 NKJV). He stated, “I am the vine, you are the branches” (John 15:5 NKJV). He used the parable of the sower to teach us how the Gospel is spread (Matthew 13:18 NKJV).

But you are part of God’s favorite garden on this earth, the one that includes all the people who live on this planet–nearly 8 billion blooms—each unique. Yes, to God you are a beautiful flower that He has created to bring praise to Himself. Some people are gorgeous orchids that He has placed front and center to glorify Him. They get a lot of attention. Others are Alpine flowers like the Swiss edelweiss that bloom high up in the mountains where few but God see them, yet they bring Him pleasure. You may live alone where no one notices when you are patient through suffering. God does! Maybe no one seems to notice when you go out of your way to be kind to your grouchy neighbor. God does!

Whatever your gifts, whether you are in a position of leadership or you are working in some hidden corner where no one notices, bloom where God has planted you, and I guarantee He will use you to bring joy to His heart and blessing to those in your sphere of influence.
