Director of Development

The Position

The Director of Development will play a key leadership role in the ministry.  The role of the Director of Development is to lead the strategic design, execution, and management of a specific, comprehensive fundraising plan to grow donors and gifts at a rate necessary to achieve the organization´s annual and long-term goals. His/her effectiveness will have a major impact on Guidelines’ ability to meet its significant goals.  The position reports to Bonnie Sala, Guidelines’ President.

Strategic

  • Develop and implement a strategy for increasing the donor base. This strategy should include, but not be limited to direct mail, major gifts, deferred giving, etc. Development and our Marketing team will work closely together.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to strengthen relationships by shepherding existing donors. This may include, but is not limited to, written communication, personal visits, events, donor-meetings with the President, etc.
  • Develop a comprehensive events strategy. These events may range from small in-home dinner parties or desserts to church events to possibly even a weekend event.
  • Understanding what motivates the philanthropic giving of the generations following the “Baby Boomers” and formulate development strategy accordingly.

Organizational

  • Lead by example, carrying a personal portfolio of up to 300 donors (ongoing identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and shepherding)
  • Lead Development team (currently only a Development Coordinator) using creativity, analytical and management skills to assess current development activities, identifying desired outcomes and implementing best practices.
  • Inspire, encourage, and motivate individuals and/or groups through a compelling presentation style – coupled with a seasoned, professional presence.
  • Have a clear understanding of what motivates people and the ability to draw out of them their best results.

The Specifics

  • Bachelor’s degree, Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation or other training would be an asset.
  • Proven track record in growing development revenue, 3-5 years’ experience working with a faith-based organization, or a missions ministry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must have effective presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Bloomerang or similar CRM/Development databases to work strategically, with monthly data analysis/reporting.
  • Experience in effectively using social media so that you could interface with the Marketing team in fundraising and engaging donors.
  • Must be able to travel within the US

Multimedia Production Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Multimedia Production Coordinator plays an integral part of the team at Guidelines International Ministries, a Christian media organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in media production, with an expertise in editing, mixing dialogue, and operating various production equipment. The role requires excellent communication skills, particularly in script and broadcast-style writing. Key responsibilities include coordinating with talent and other team members, conducting quality checks, maintaining media archives, and collaborating on diverse projects.  Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the audio and video production process of locally produced Guidelines content following organizational standards and workflows, including pre-production planning, recording sessions, post-production script and audio file editing, mixdown, processing, and final delivery to distribution channels adhering to assigned targets and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with talent, and other production and marketing team members to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality output.
  • Select, edit, and perform audio restoration on archived programs for rebroadcast.
  • Conduct rigorous quality checks on all content to ensure it meets the highest standards of clarity, consistency, and overall excellence.
  • Maintain archives of all production elements.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of all database files pertaining to indexes of programs, radio station partners, etc.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all audio and video files on content distribution platforms and SharePoint.
  • Collaborate closely with other team members to help facilitate the creation of other content, which may include podcasts, short-format social media, external promotions, educational curriculum, and other enterprise-wide projects.
  • Distribute partner reports to appropriate team members and archival system.
  • Work strategically with domestic and international partners, maintaining and growing ministry opportunities and partnerships.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong personal commitment to Christ and Guidelines Purpose, Mission Statement, and Statement of Faith, with no personal or professional conflicts with the Christian philosophy of Guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with particular emphasis on script and broadcast-style writing.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with colleagues and customers throughout the organization and the industry at every level.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of media production, recording, and distribution equipment including microphones, consoles, processors, codecs, hybrids, cameras, video production software, etc.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of video production, recording, and distribution equipment including video cameras, microphones, and video editing software.
  • Advanced fluency in video production software (Adobe Creative Cloud preferred).
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Workflow/Project Management Systems.
  • Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to self-manage multiple, time-sensitive projects with strong attention to detail and the quality of work delivered.
  • Ability and willingness to develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of current production techniques and activities.
  • Must be a team player with a calm and flexible approach to handling pressure and stress while adapting to the needs of the team and project.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with Digital Audio Workstation software (Adobe Audition preferred) in recording multi-track mixing, waveform editing of dialogue and music, and restoration of audio files.
  • Software:  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud products

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Film and Video Production, Instructional Technology or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in media production, including editing and mixing dialogue and the operation of a wide range of production equipment.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

 

Salary/Hours/Benefits:

  • Full-time salaried (40 hours a week)
  • Salary range: $60K-$80K (depending on qualifications)
