Honor and majesty surround him; strength and beauty fill his sanctuary. Psalm 96:6
Beauty can catch your eye in an instant. But the kind that captures your heart can change your life.
In a part of the world where government restrictions and cultural pressures limit opportunities to hear about Jesus, one woman heard a message that opened her eyes. Aisulu said, “I started to see how beautiful Jesus was. When I heard about how God works in His people’s lives, it made me want to believe.” What she heard led her to believe in and follow Jesus.
When Aisulu opened her heart to Jesus and asked for His forgiveness, she wept. It was the beginning of a new life. Before then, she had carried a deep emptiness. “I felt a deep lack in my heart. It was infecting every part of my life. Nothing felt fulfilling anymore.” Discouraged and searching for hope, she recalls, “I was looking for anything that might help me.”
What Aisulu found was more than help. She encountered Someone whose beauty drew her heart. One writer put words to that longing this way: “We do not want merely to see beauty …. We want … to be united with the beauty we see.” [1] The Bible reveals that beauty isn’t merely something God created; it is found in His very being. The Bible’s Psalms say, “Honor and majesty surround him; strength and beauty fill his sanctuary” (Psalm 96:6). In Jesus, Aisulu encountered that beauty for herself.
Aisulu heard about Jesus through a radio program in her own language. She’s still listening, and she’s experiencing the beauty of Jesus in the believers behind the program who continue to encourage her in her faith. Today, you can help someone else see Jesus and grow in Him. Help send the message that reached Aisulu to millions around the world in the languages of their hearts. Give today at guidelines.org.
