Four Years of Hope

August 2025 marks four years since the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan, bringing severe repercussions for Christians. Afghanistan ranks among the top ten countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution, according to the World Watch List by Open Doors.

Most Afghan Christians are converts from Islam, making open practice of their faith nearly impossible. Christians who are discovered often face threats of violence, forced conversion, and imprisonment. Many believers have gone into hiding, conducting secret home gatherings to worship in safety.

Despite these dire circumstances, Guidelines devotionals continue to remain on the air, and Afghan Christians continue to demonstrate faithful resilience. Read what one Afghan listener shares:

“My name is Safia. I am a student and a regular listener of the Dari Guidelines programs. These programs have deeply impacted my life. I have come to understand that God offers refuge to all, especially those who have been rejected by their families. Despite the risks, I am grateful that I am able to listen to these programs. They bring me peace, hope, and spiritual strength. Please pray as I continue on this journey of faith and learning.” – Safia

We are incredibly grateful for supporters like you who help Guidelines devotionals all over the world, including Afghanistan, encouraging mature believers while remaining clear and accessible for those new in their faith.

Though we cannot physically go to places like Afghanistan, we can still send God’s message of hope to minister to others like Safia.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we strive to bring God’s love and hope to the next people group in their own language.
