The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. Psalm 119:130

In a small Kenyan village, a farmer stood in his field of withered crops, wondering if God would really come through.

The farmer was struggling to believe that God would provide for him and his family. The rain hadn’t come, and they had no food left. But he remembered a Bible verse that said, “Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).

So, the farmer did something simple, yet bold. He walked to the home of an elderly neighbor who had no family and offered to repair her broken fence. “I have nothing left to give God,” he thought to himself, “but I can love someone He loves.”

Later that day, a friend unexpectedly stopped by the farmer’s home bringing food and offering him day work. With tears in his eyes, the farmer whispered, “Now I know God’s promises are real.”

Jesus said, “Ask, and you will receive …. Seek, and you will find ….” (Matthew 7:7 excerpted). But we only discover the truth of that when we actually ask—when we begin to seek. When we act on what God says, something happens. Fear gives way to peace. Doubt makes room for courage. Like striking a match in a dark room—God’s light begins to spread.

The Bible’s Psalms say this: “The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand” (Psalm 119:130). God’s invitations aren’t too complicated for you or me. They’re not for “someone else.” His promises are for you. Right now. Wherever you are. Find the promises in God’s book. Test them. Live them. You’ll see for yourself: His promises hold true.
