Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.” Mark 11:22-24

They call her the woman who plows through concrete.

Leda grew up under communism and came to faith in Jesus through the first Christian media broadcast in her country after it opened. Knowing its power to communicate the gospel, she founded and leads a Christian media ministry. The ministry is in a persecuted region, and faces opposition at every turn.

But Leda gets things done, and she does it through unshakeable faith and unrelenting prayer. One day as Leda entered the ministry’s radio studio to host a live program, the engineer told her that the station was off the air—the transmitter was completely broken. There was no signal. Leda told him, “I’m going to be on the radio, so get ready.”

She recounts: “I asked him to pray with me over the transmitter. He refused, saying it didn’t need prayer, it needed repair. So, I prayed alone. Nothing happened. I went into the studio, sat in front of the microphone, and prayed, ‘God, I’ve done my part. You know I don’t know how to fix this, and I don’t have the money to replace it. Now please do your work.’“

One minute before airtime, the transmitter came back on. The signal was perfectly clear for the entire program. Even more remarkable, for the next six months the transmitter worked—but only during that particular broadcast. “And the engineers learned a lesson,” Leda said, “about when to be silent—and pray.”

Jesus taught, “Have faith in God … you must really believe … and have no doubt in your heart” (Mark 11:22-24). The faith that once prayed a transmitter back to life continues to fuel Leda’s ministry, where the message of Jesus is shared with millions through programs like this devotional. Together, we’re bringing the hope of the gospel to listeners who may not hear it any other way. You can join in by giving a gift today at guidelines.org.
