And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” Romans 10:15

When civil war broke out in Syria, a former military general pulled Nour aside with an urgent warning: “This is your time. Leave now.” Within 48 hours, Nour was gone.

Nour comes from a Syrian family that has held onto their Christian faith for generations. His ancestors had paid special taxes just to remain followers of Jesus. But the day came when Nour’s father told him, “Go, and God will provide for you.” He left the country with $1,000 and his father’s blessing, settling in Lebanon. His mother is still in Syria, on the other side of a border he can’t cross. And when his father passed away, Nour wasn’t able to be at his side.

In his grief and exile, Nour found a calling he hadn’t expected. Through radio and social media, he became a messenger of Good News. Scripture declares, “How beautiful are the feet of the messengers who bring good news!” (Romans 10:15). And it is a beautiful work—Nour says, “We are filling the air of Lebanon with the hope and faith of Jesus.” Over half a million listen daily.

The work is not without risk. Nour admits, “We receive a lot of threats. People try to shut us down and attack our technology.” When bombs shake the studios, they stay on-air, because, as Nour says, “Maybe someone is there and they need to hear the message of Christ.”

Nour believes short devotionals like this one matter more than people realize. He shares, “These few minutes touch the people’s hearts and start important dialogue through phone calls and texting.” And every message that goes out carries the chance that someone searching in secret will finally find hope.

Many more are still waiting to hear those messages. You can help send devotionals like these to those still searching for hope around the world. Give a gift today at guidelines.org.
