Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms. Psalm 68:19

Feeling like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders today?

Marta was exhausted. After a long week of work and caring for her ailing mother, she found herself slumped at the kitchen table, staring at a pile of unpaid bills. What overwhelmed her most wasn’t the to-do list—it was the feeling that she had to manage it all alone.

Then a quiet whisper in her heart reminded her of something she’d once heard in church: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) These are the words of Jesus. When she remembered them, Marta realized she’d been carrying her load without ever asking for His help.

God cares about the burdens we carry—whether it’s financial stress, relationship struggles, health issues, or the quiet ache of loneliness. The Bible encourages us to give praise ” … to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens” (Psalm 68:19). The God of the Bible isn’t a distant observer—He’s a present, compassionate friend. His help comes in different ways—sometimes through a friend who shows up and asks, “How are you really?”

A woman once shared the story of a man carrying a heavy load on his back. Offered a ride on a wagon, he climbed in—but kept the burden on his shoulders. When asked why, he replied, “It’s too much to ask you to carry both me and my load.”[1] Are you like that man? God’s strength is enough for both you and for anything and everything that life brings to you, but you have to let Him carry it. Unload your burden in prayer by simply sharing them in conversation with Him, today.
