And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Colossians 2:15 NIV
What if it’s possible to break free from the thing that’s held you back your whole life?
Danielle worked as a chaplain in a brothel. One day a hardened woman approached Danielle and asked her, “Do you break curses?” “I actually know the one who has broken every curse,” Danielle answered the woman. “His name is Jesus.” The woman asked Danielle to pray for her. As they prayed, another woman came up and asked what was going on. She wanted prayer for the curses she lived under—the curse of evil holding her in bondage, the curse of exploitation and being discarded. Soon a circle of women had gathered in the middle of the brothel to ask for the freedom that only Jesus can give.
Only Jesus breaks the curse of evil powers, of sin and shame, self-loathing and oppression. He never sinned, yet He chose to give up His life for the brokenness and sin of all humanity. He willingly allowed Himself to be crucified and then triumphed over death by coming back to life. The Bible explains the impact of what Jesus did like this: “And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” (Colossians 2:15 NIV).
Danielle said, “In that moment I thought, ‘I know the one who breaks every curse. I know the God who is Christ, who by His death and resurrection broke every curse.’ In that place, I announced the news that everybody has access to that God who can break those curses.”[1]streams.studio (Video 223),” Instagram video, September 14, 2026, https://www.instagram.com/reels/DdSCpsBpkE7/
Whatever curse still has a grip on you today, whether it’s shame, addiction, or the belief that you’ve gone too far, Jesus already broke it. Come to Him today and ask for the freedom only He can give.
