Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.” John 11:25

If death isn’t the end, where do we go? One woman needed to know.

Soo-jin buried her grandmother in a shallow grave in the forest. There was no funeral. No words of remembrance or comfort. Just tears and silence.

Her grandmother had whispered prayers at night—ones Soo-jin didn’t understand. In her grandmother’s final hours, she said, “There is a place beyond this. A home where tears will end.” Soo-jin wanted to believe her. But how could she know it was true?

One night, Soo-jin heard a story about a man named Jesus. He was killed—publicly, brutally—and buried. But three days later, His tomb was empty. And not just empty—He was alive. His followers saw and spoke with Him. The Bible tells us Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in Me will live, even after dying” (John 11:25). Jesus didn’t just escape death—He defeated it. And because of that, Jesus offers eternal life to those who trust Him.

The Bible speaks with this bold hope: “We know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down … we will have a house in heaven. “ (2 Corinthians 5:1). Death is not the end. Jesus gives life that no one can take away—and a future no grave can hold.

Later, Soo-jin read these words: “[Jesus] will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever” (Revelation 21:4). She held onto them like a promise. Soo-jin still visits the forest. But now she whispers, “I will see you again.”
