Give us today the food we need. Matthew 6:11

War, economic collapse, raging governments, and a world reshaped by artificial intelligence. That’s not the plot of a futuristic movie—it’s today’s headlines.

From college graduates drowning in debt with no work, families unable to afford housing, and conflict boiling around the world, the ground beneath us can feel like it’s crumbling. So how do we live in peace in a world like this?

The answer isn’t found in ignoring reality—but in grounding ourselves in a greater one. Jesus said, “Give us today the food we need” (Matthew 6:11). This is more than about bread. It’s about asking God for today’s strength, today’s joy, today’s hope. In the Old Testament of the Bible, when God’s people were traveling in the desert, they were given a type of bread that fell from heaven—just enough for that day. It was called manna. If they tried to hoard that day’s manna to save some for the next day, it rotted. Why? Because God was training them to trust Him daily. Not with a five-year plan, but with each morning’s mercy.

Jesus also said, “Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today” (Matthew 6:34). That doesn’t mean we stop caring—it means we stop spiraling. We live alert. We watch and pray. The Bible says that the end won’t come—and the new beginning start, until every nation hears of Jesus. That’s our calling—sharing the hope we have today with those near and far.

Hold tightly to this truth: God is faithful. He has always been. He will be again. Thank Him for blessings you see and trust Him for the needs you can’t meet.
