Why Your Conversations May Be God-Appointed Moments

I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ Isaiah 46:10 NIV

Success is sometimes just about being in the right place, at the right time.

In contrast to our experiences, God doesn’t depend on the universe lining up right for His success. In fact, He is the one lining up the universe! He says, “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please’” (Isaiah 46:10 NIV). God coordinates people, circumstances and timing!

An interesting story in the Bible illustrates this. Cornelius was a man who believed in God and tried to live a good life, but he didn’t know the full story of Jesus. One day God sent him a message through an angel to find a follower of Jesus named Peter. Just as Cornelius’s messengers were reaching the town where Peter was, Peter was praying and God gave him a vision, telling Peter that the message of Jesus was for everyone, including non-Jewish people like Cornelius. Just as Peter was puzzling over the vision, the messengers arrived at the door and God told Peter to go with them to share the story of Jesus with Cornelius and his family (Acts 10).

Jesus-follower, God is always on the move in every encounter you have with people. Just as God gave Peter the message that Cornelius needed to hear, there are people that God has set out for YOU to reach because of the way you are, your experiences, even the pain that you’ve gone through.

Have you ever had the slightest thought, while conversing with someone, that they really need to hear of Jesus’s love? That was your moment! Did you miss it? Don’t worry. You’ll hear the whisper of the Holy Spirit again, if you’re listening.
