“The time promised by God has come at last!” He announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!” Mark 1:15
What would you say? Is being religious the same thing as knowing God?
Dimitar is a young man who lives in a deeply religious family. “My family is very proud of their religion,” he shares. “But I have always been wondering about God. What I knew about Him wasn’t enough. I was so desperate, and with no answer to many issues going on in my life. I never understood that I could connect to God on a personal level. I thought He was a distant God, and I could only communicate with His saints.” But God says in the Bible, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you” (Jeremiah 29:13-14a NIV).
Ditimar’s time had come. He heard a radio program about the Good News that he could have personal relationship with Jesus. Ditimar says, “My thinking toward Jesus changed. My overall life changed, as I started to apply the faith and godly wisdom I received [as I learned about Jesus]… in my daily life.”
You may know about God but not know Him personally. He wants more for you. He created you personally, loves you personally and wants you to know Him. If this is you, your time has come. “The time promised by God has come at last!” Jesus once preached. He announced “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!” (Mark 1:15 excerpted). You can change your relationship status with God right now by acknowledging your need for Him, asking for His forgiveness– which he wants to give and choosing to surrender your way for His.
Because, in Dimitar’s words: “Religion does not make us free, but a personal relationship with Jesus does!”
