If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5

Have you ever received unwanted advice that felt wrong for your situation?

Imagine someone who’s addicted to work—day and night they’re always at their job. They probably need to hear, “Take a break. Spend time with your family.” But someone who’s not employed, who’s refused to look for work for a year might need a different message— “It’s time to step up and contribute.” One person might need to build relationships, while another who’s always surrounded by people—might benefit from solitude.

The right advice depends on the situation. That’s why we value personalized guidance so highly. People pay for life coaches, personal trainers, and therapists—not for general advice, but for solutions tailored to their unique, very own challenges.

The truth is, we all need guidance that fits where we are right now. And we need it daily. The Bible calls this our daily bread—spiritual nourishment that meets the unique needs of each day. Just like our bodies need food, our minds and souls need God’s wisdom and provision.

The Bible book of James says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5).

And God’s wisdom isn’t generic. He knows your story, your struggles, and what you need today. His Spirit, called our Helper and Teacher, walks alongside us, offering balance—when to work and when to rest, when to step forward and when to hold back. But we have to ask.

If you’re struggling to find a healthy balance in your life today, turn to God. Open the Bible. Read, pray and listen. God promises to provide exactly what you need—His wisdom personalized just for you.
