Your Need Is No Match For God’s Infinite Resources
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Ephesians 3:20
Is there a nagging need in your life that it seems, will never get met?
Marc runs a small business that’s growing but always running on tight finances. Every role on his team is integral and he desperately needed to hire three additional people. He prayed, asking God to send exactly the right employees. Two of the three people he hired turned out to be incredible employees, with much greater skills than he even realized they had. But after a few months, he had to let the third hire go. Now the year drags on and he worriedly wonders if he’ll ever find that much-needed third employee.
The Bible encourages Marc, and all of us in need with this verse: “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20). “Our greatest need,” writes Joni Eareckson Tada, “can never exceed the abundant resources that are ours in Christ. He is incomprehensibly rich; he is the vast and only reservoir of help for every want.”[1]
One 17th century preacher pointed out, “There is in a crucified Jesus—something proportionable to all the straits, wants, necessities and desires of His poor people. He is bread to nourish them, and a garment to cover…them, a physician to heal them…a counselor to advise them…a captain to defend them…a father to provide, a brother to relieve, a foundation to support…a treasure to enrich, a sun to enlighten and a fountain to cleanse.” [2]
In any economy, in any crisis, in any impossible circumstances Jesus is infinitely more than able to meet all your needs.
