Her sister Mary, though, sat quietly at Jesus’s feet, giving Him her full attention. Jesus said, “There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:42) Spending time with Jesus is the most secure investment you can ever make, with the surest return.

Like Mary, look to Jesus. Sit with Him as you read the Bible. Talk with Him. Worship. Rest in His peace. It’s tempting to think that slowing down is a luxury, or that time with God can wait. But this is the investment no one can take from you—the source of your joy, your strength, and your life.
