It’s hard to believe, but one out of every three people on earth today have never heard about it.

We’re talking about the story of Jesus—the son of God who laid down His royal status to take on human frailty and death. We call this the gospel, which simply means good news. God’s plan for humanity is laid out in His book, the Bible. It tells that He doesn’t want anyone to die without the opportunity of knowing Him and His love, (2 Peter 3:9, John 3:16) without the opportunity of accepting His forgiveness (Acts 3:19). He wants everyone to live in right relationship with Him (John 10:10).

This is why He tasks His followers with being His messengers through the words of Jesus.  Right before He went back to heaven, Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation (Mark 16:15 NIV). Although this term isn’t in the Bible, sometimes we call this, “The Great Commission.” As daunting a task as this may seem, there’s an endcap to this command and it’s this statement found in the Bible book of Matthew: “The gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).

The exciting news is that God will finish this task! He is using more and more of His followers who are waking up to yes to being used by Him. They’re humbly moving past their own egos, past the logos of their churches and mission organizations, to say yes, not to growing their own enterprises, but to growing God’s Kingdom through partnership together. You, too, are needed.
