God will raise us from the dead by his power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead. 1 Corinthians 6:14

 

Are you feeling defeated today? There’s a powerful reason for hope.

Juan has seen God heal and restore a lot of brokenness in his life. He knows God can be trusted and can redeem our lives just as He raised Jesus from the dead after He was killed. But Juan is also experiencing the fresh pain and disappointment of his messy divorce following his wife’s infidelity. Today, Juan needs to believe afresh that God is a God of hope and resurrection, capable of restoration in all the areas in which he still feels defeated.

Jesus’s resurrection is a beacon of hope for all of us! God brought Jesus back to life after dying a horrific death to pay the penalty for all sin. The grave Jesus was in was powerless to hold Him. Not only did Jesus take our blame and punishment, but He lives again and now holds the power to reconcile all things. In other words, Jesus can make the wrong things right and work restoration at the deepest level in even the greatest chasms of pain.

Maybe you, like Juan, have already seen the power of Jesus at work in your life. And, like Juan, there are likely many areas in your life where you’re still in the middle of a painful and unfinished journey. The Bible says that you can trust that God, “who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished” (Philippians 1:6).

Because of Jesus, you have hope that the circumstances you face today aren’t the end of your story! The Bible book of 1 Corinthians assures us that, “God will raise us from the dead by his power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead” (I Corinthians 6:14).
