I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! Psalms 116:1-2

Have you ever written a letter to God?  If you did, did He answer?

Two young girls lived in a country with restricted access to any other faith other than the one mandated by the government of their country. They had tried to reach God through their religion but were frustrated. “Was He there?  Was He real?” they wondered. “Could they know Him and did He know who they were? If they could reach Him, would He listen?” And so they wrote Him letters, placed the on the roof of their home and waited.

Their answer didn’t come in the mail, but it did come through the internet! They met a follower of Jesus online who told them about some audio programs just like this one, that helped them come to know God’s very personal love for them. All of their lives they, and everyone around them, had tried and tried to reach up to God with good deeds and rule-following. But they never knew that the God of the Bible, in fact, had already reached down to them in love, sending His Son down to them to pay for their wrongs. And He waits for us to call.

Amazingly, the God of the Bible is the God Who bends down to us. The writer of the Bible book of Psalms said, “I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!” (Psalms 116:1-2).

If you’re wondering if you might reach Him, He’s bending down to listen today–His ear is turned to you. Call out to Him for forgiveness, for help, for Himself. He longs to hear your voice.
