This Is Why God Can Do Anything
Every time I come across a phrase in the Bible that tells me nothing is impossible with God, I’m stopped in my tracks. If it’s true that God can do anything, then why am I so worried about that troublesome problem I’m struggling with? And it’s not as if God told us only once or twice that nothing is impossible with Him. In fact, today’s Encouraging Words devotional is going to be made up almost entirely of some of those phrases from the Bible. Here we go:
“Jesus…said, ‘With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.'” “For nothing will be impossible with God.” “Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.” “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Job said, “I know that you can do all things, and no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” “What is impossible with men is possible with God.” “All things are possible for one who believes.” Abraham was 99 and his barren wife was 89 when a heavenly visitor told him, “At the appointed time Sarah shall have a son. Is anything too hard for the Lord?” And, finally, the Bible tells us God “is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think….”[1]
What inspiring, motivating, uplifting Bible verses these are! Today let God remind you that no need you have is beyond His ability to meet—no difficulty too hard to solve. Be encouraged! Truly, nothing is impossible with our God!
