Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Have you ever seen mountain goats scrambling along the rocky edge of a cliff?

It’s staggering to imagine how the mountain goat can stay so firmly footed on the narrowest and steepest of ledges! These resilient creatures epitomize agility and the ability to adapt to a harsh environment. They’re brave but quick to pivot when their footing is unsure.

Today’s world has many of the harsh realities of a sheer cliff. Falls are sudden and frequent with crashing markets, political upheaval, and the unpredictability of global pandemics. Navigating rocky ledges of uncertainty can make us feel a bit like mountain goats, but prone to panic!

God wants to forge in us, the confidence to climb the heights, despite looming uncertainty. One of the ways God helps us gain the courage to face the unknown is by giving us clarity about what we can be sure of and that’s God’s faithfulness, His nearness to us and help. The Bible book of Philippians says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

God invites us to come to Him with all our worries, problems, and doubts. His arms are open, inviting us to talk with Him and trust Him. When we know that no matter what comes, we’ll be able to run to God for His help, uncertainty loses its power to topple us and take our peace.
